Cannot emphasize how much their lack of legacy costs and mindset is propelling them forward ahead of Verizon and ATT is garnering market share. ATT is just lagging and lobbying for lifelines left and right. Trump elected is going to cut many of those government legs up.

TMO wont because wireless alone won’t sustain it which is why they are desperate to get into fiber and delivering broadband. ATT has a huge competitive advantage there.
When I retired from AT&T last spring, I ditched the measly retiree discount for mobile service and went with T-Mobile. Better service, and much better price! With AT&T, you can buy better but you can't pay more.
“In the long run..?”
They’ve been the leader for a couple years already at a minimum. Pay attention.
In the long run, I also believe T-Mob will be the ultimate winner in wireless. Don’t take my word for it, investors see it too. T-Mob is the only stock in the industry that seems to be flourishing.

Gross mismanagement over the last decade created an undesirable situation.
You got it right OP.
And with the new FCC chair being appointed by the new administration (can’t say the word because google owns this site and the post will be purged), the new FCC chair will further the goals of Starlink Satellite usage and strenghten the alliance that T Mobile has with it. T was too busy lobbying the last admin and implementing Woke RTO mandates swapping out people for desired demographics.
