"A union would fix this" ... said nobody except the uninformed and union leadership.

You will either have a corporate overlord or a union overlord. Pick your poison. Both are terrible.

As for remote work ... this isn't anything new. Charlie, for all of his faults, has been extremely transparent about his vision with remote workers. He was talking about this pre-COVID. He's not correct but he is isn't hiding his cards. He, Dimon, Moynihan, they are all working in lockstep to make remote work at banks a thing of the past.

"Govt unions stick it to taxpayers with enormous pensions… just add it to the debt, which is now 120% of GNP, the highest since WW2."

Perhaps that's true, but a great many of those jobs DO NOT PAY WELL, making it really difficult to save for retirement outside of the pension.

Private industry takes no cues from government behavior. Everyone knows it's a horribly ran cluster. Sane people should do the opposite of whatever gov does.

Given Vivek & Elon’s statements today that their efficiency goal is all govt employees back in office 5 days next year, remote/hybrid will be a thing of the past. Every industry will follow suit.
