Contractors exempt from RTO?

Big if true.

The point is that most contractors are working with (aka "collaborating") with employees. If RTO were about collaboration, then the contractors should be in the office too. I've also been a contractor and been required to report to the office just like the employees. The only place it was different was, you guessed it, AT&T. When I was a contractor in 2004/2005 I could work from home. Then I converted to being a Cingular (soon to be AT&T) employee and all of a sudden I had to be in the office. I did the same job with the same people.

I honestly don't have a problem with the contractors working remote. But its just another example of why the whole "RTO for collaboration" thing is a sham.

Accenture contractor here, WFH for over 15 years. Employee prior to that, WTF since 1995.

“ Contractors are not employees. Why would you think they would be beholden to the same RTO stupidity as you?”

Have done contract work at other companies and contractors were on-site. They just usually have a different color badge or whatever and could not use things like an onsite gym.

It’s pretty common. Good for them if they can get away with it but shows once again that this is about control and getting rid of people, not any BS about collaboration. He-l even the leaders aren’t using the collaboration trope as much as they did before.

Yep. Contractors don’t apply and can work anywhere.

Vendors have hybrid and work from home options. What I would like to know is, since they have access to the same SPI, how do they stay compliant with the new FCC mandates?

Vendors have access to same SPI but there is no controls in place- hybrid to full time remote. Is this compliant with the new FCC rules?

You petty, jealous people (actually pretty sure it's the same sad person that posts here all the time worried about others)---are now getting on the CONTRACTORS (read: non-AT&T employees) for not having to report to an AT&T office daily???

What's next? Are we going to get mad at people that work at different companies for not having to report ?

Grow the F up.

Yup not necessarily all but definitely some. Really annoying too because I ‘collaborate’ a lot with certain contractors and the rationale given was a joke.

Just another piece of BS in this whole thing. It’s almost funny how little the decision makers care about their credibility. They should all slick back their hair, put on the cheap suits and dress like the used car salesman they are
