Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

5 Day- RTO

Dear Full-Time Office Leaders,
As we continue to build momentum toward meeting our strategic goals through on-site collaboration, we have decided to transition full-time office managers to five full days in the office per week, beginning January 6th.
This decision comes after careful consideration of our business needs, team collaboration, and the overall benefits that an in-office presence brings. We believe that being physically together will continue to enhance communication, foster stronger team relationships, and ultimately drive our success forward.
We also acknowledge that life's unexpected moments - appointments, childcare needs, or other personal situations - may occasionally require exceptions.
Flexibility is about balancing extraordinary work needs with life's demands. Please continue to communicate these moments with your leadership, just as you do today.
Expectations
Our leaders are empowered to support you when exceptions are necessary, but the standard expectations are:
• Be actively engaged and productive in the office five days per week
• Communicate with your leaders when field visits or special circumstances arise

Alpharetta has ~1600 parking spaces, ~2000 desks, and about ~3500 employees assigned to the location. Most of those employees are in Network. How in the H#!! is this a "This decision comes after careful consideration of our business needs, team collaboration, and the overall benefits that an in-office presence brings. " You carefully considered the business needs of having space for around half of the employees at a location? Did you 'carefully consider team collaboration' when you'll have people sitting in break rooms, floors, and bathroom toilets because there's not enough places to sit --- and NONE OF WHAT IS THERE WILL BE ASSIGNED SEATING. Sounds like you put in as much planning as you did when you rolled out RTO with Atlanta being first and utter chaos ensued.

How in the @#$! can a company survive if they can't even implement a non-chaotic RTO policy. We having mass layoffs, mass firings, mass chaos? WHAT, STANKEY?! WHAT. Did not realize that 'corporate culture' you were striving for was Thunderdome.

"Ask your supervisor or AskATT"

Here let me help you with that:
"Ask your new AI supervisor, AskATT"

They tried to replace the Stankster with AI but it kept screaming "Buy high, sell low." in that cartoonish, gravelly voice of his.

“ I can tell you that people are not doing the 3 day mandate now in non hub cities. They are not at the address listed in webphone for sure.“

That is being captured on the report and will catch up with both them and their manager.

Be actively engaged and productive in the office five days per week. What a smug condescending email to send out to people who give their blood sweat and tears to this company.
Stanley is a piece of sh-t and there’s a special place in he-l for him.

Come to any city besides Atlanta or Dallas and pick up hundreds of desks. Desks are cheap. Not a problem we can’t solve.

"I’ll be in the office 5 days a week for 8 hours, except I won’t be doing sh-t! My calendar will be busy loaded up all day everyday but I’ll just be watching Netflix, sc--w you!"

Me too. I "won't be doing sh-t" while watching Netflix whether WFH or RTO.

I’d love to be able to present project results or proposals like this with zero data or any concrete rationale, just expired word salad. Maybe that’s what we all should do from now on.

The “network group “ is the reason any other group has a job.

Everyone else just supports or makes money off the “dinosaurs”.

That was network group leadership email. It’s already a dinosaur group. Old tech, old ways of doing everything, and just d-mb. 0 innovative ideas and lots of politics.
