An internal client could not speak with me during the day when I first contacted them at 10am. Since I got to the office and was logged on just before 8am so I started to log off right at 501pm when I get the teams message that the client is available to talk. Sorry, I already worked my 8 . . . talk to you tomorrow. I am re-purposing the AT&T advice . . . "I'm at 8 - it can wait" til tomorrow!

Keep in mind, one of the 2025 goals TA showed us was "Be the Best Employer". What a time to be alive...lol
I had someone DM me at 5:01, sorry I'm not responding. Unless it's scheduled with an approved change request, I'm not working after 5pm.

LOL -- My work location is now within 2 miles of both Costco and Sam's. Now that I have the external, mechanical mouse jiggler I spend a few hours at both each week. No company COU for the company to check. I get all my shopping done during work hours. I can't wait until it gets really cold, then I can get my refrigerated groceries also. The harder the company works to create oppressive and ridiculous rules and work conditions, the harder the employees work to get around those rules.
"We call it 8 and skate."
I like the OP using AT&Ts own words against them, a slight modification. "Got my 8 . . . it can wait"
We call it 8 and skate. Vamboose, adios mf

Good shift. I remember my boomer boss had to up a level for “approval” for that shift.” It was mostly women who have children in daycare. I imagine everyone under the sun will be requesting with 5 days a week starting next month.

Ol' Corey, our VP, and our AVP keep telling us to 'come in earlier' when we complain that our location has 55% available parking for the number of employees assigned to our complex. Yea. Right. "Earlier" will end up going from 8:30 (no parking available already at 9am on Wed.) to 7:30am then 6:30am to 5 . . . .
WTF, AT&T. you're mandating an insane policy when you don't have the resources to implement it. And, BTW, before anyone says to use mass transit -- there isn't any near our location outside Atlanta.
Q: How is that “culture” working out in 2025?
A: It is not.
T wants non-exempt managers to be “hourly” 8-5 and then switch to “24x7” after 5pm, oh the irony.
“ It’s 5x9 buddy. We don’t pay for your lunch”
Tell me you’re hourly without telling me you’re hourly.

Learn to read, buddy. I clearly stated I was online before 8am and started to shut down after 5pm. Typical Stank brown noser . . . speaks before they think.
If they don’t like it, they can talk to the Stink.

I take my lunch at 4:00 PM to commute back to home.
