Absolutely your employer can tell you what your work schedule is........ Any employer.

If there are different schedules (days off, hours of coverage, etc.) to choose from and if you have earned the choice you can choose, if you have not earned the choice or if there is only one schedule then you will be told your schedule.

Man, some people REALLY don't understand having a job.....

IHX is a scam. Wife was pressured to let one of these characters come to our house to activate a replacement cell phone. Guy spent 75 minutes trying to sell us everything in the product line. Failed to activate the new phone. Had to take it to a store the next day. Store manager swore and apologized.

Customers can not stand them and do not want them in their home

IHX should not be a thing. Massive waste of expense budget to do nothing but annoy and cheat customers.

"Could you imagine the restaurant industry?"

The restaurant industry is special because of its unpredictability. It is one of the few industries that is allowed to cut stated employee hours at will, or as necessary, to match the work activity.

"An employer can tell you what hours to work. Could you imagine the restaurant industry? Managers randomly coming and going. "I got my 40 hours in." Cmon man. Salary has always been more than 40 hours."

Ever see the turnover rate in restaurants?

When there isn't enough money to go around, you micromanage everyone to make payroll.
Micromanaging contributes to attrition and the reduction in employee count b/c people don't like it so they leave. Then there is more money to go around.
Your team is in phase 1. Expect it to get much worse in the very near future.

Just wait until y’all start doing 8:45 am huddles to start the day and 4:30-5 pm production calls at the end of the day…

Yes. An employer can tell you what hours to work. Could you imagine the restaurant industry? Managers randomly coming and going. "I got my 40 hours in." Cmon man. Salary has always been more than 40 hours.
