There’s more to come. Trust me on that.

that’s insane. we implemented WP2020 on the assumption that (proven through data) people were there about 40 to 50% of the time. 5 days a week “mandated” and not constituting a dedicated workspace is THE MOST ridiculous idea yet. HR must be running Real Estate now. clueless to all of the research that’s existed for 2 decades.

Most of the folks in our group when they leave due to a lay-off are replaced with a virtual worker overseas, ironic new AT&T employees straight out of training do not need in person collaboration but those of us who have been here for over 20 years need it 5X8.

Rto is just another way for Stankey to get people to quit rather than laying them off…Stankey is a lousy leader and ATT has lost billions because of his stupid decisions and failed acquisitions…no other company would hire him…

So you sit on top of your boss? Now that's really Stankey!

“ You’ll see them for a week or two and then they never come back. People are not following RTO where I am.“

I don’t think any of us know what to expect at Bonus time. I do know I wouldn’t want to be one of those people described above. Because they and their supervisors will be in for an unpleasant surprise. Saw it happen to several last year.

“People are not following RTO where I am. Everyone has their own desk. They could almost each have there own floor it’s so few.”
This will be a driving factor for terminations and loss of bonus in 2025.

“ It’s all BS. I’ve been told by multiple people multiple times they were told to start reporting 3 days a week. You’ll see them for a week or two and then they never come back. People are not following RTO where I am. Everyone has their own desk. They could almost each have there own floor it’s so few.”

You are clearly not in Atlanta or Dallas

One employee said their office had more than 1,200 people assigned to it but only about 150 desks available.

I almost wish this hadn't been in the article because this seems like an outrageous number. And if it's inaccurate, upper management will then disregard any criticism as such.

It would have been better, even if that's exactly what the employee said, to have reported it as "...their office currently had desks available for far less than half of the people assigned to that location." Even that is risky--never commit to specifics that can be easily disproven.

I once over heard someone who was forced to RTO - he was on the phone with someone complaining because “everyone around him was black” . I’m guessing I’ll hear more of that - this was at the Richardson call center - he was outside walking around - he saw me after he said what he said.

I suspect you’ll see more of this now that such a large contingent of the workforce is disgruntled.

Hopefully more people come forward and tell their stories.

The BI writer will use the negative stories (truth) to blackmail AT&T to either make amhuge Ad-Buy as payoff or they are going to print with them. My guess is you will not see any truth b/c BI is a schill and loser publication- all media is.

Oh he’s going to get a lot more press than that when all the employees email Business Insider. Finally the transparency that they all need and deserve. Release the DEI data as a result of Wave 1, Wave 2 and Wave 3. Let the oversight committee commence with invitations to AT&T C-Suite to give testimony on Capitol Hill. 🎉

This is so great

Employees told BI it's common for workers to end up sitting in the hallways or working in the cafeteria to avoid running afoul of the company's attendance-tracking system.

One employee said their office had more than 1,200 people assigned to it but only about 150 desks available.

"I know returning to the office 5 days a week is a significant change for some," Legg said in his memo. "By coming together in person, we can strengthen our connections, foster a vibrant culture, and achieve our shared goals."

The BI reporter is getting lots of insight as to what is going on here. Hoping the anonymous tips keep flowing.
