Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T to become IT&T?

More employees positions are being offshored nearly every month to India so the A (American) in AT&T will need to be changed to I (India) for accuracy. Some positions are going to Eastern European nations too. Does the US and the government we really want national security and communications being handled by foreign nationals? No wonder the data leaks, outages and who knows what information is being viewed and collected. They could shut off comms or lock out users from the systems if ever in a war and AT&T handles comms at the highest levels in our govt at any given time.

Wonder if the incoming President elect’s teams is aware of them offshoring so many American jobs and giving access to the national communications infrastructure while having government contracts that are being paid by US taxpayers dollars? AT&T also, still uses DEI in their hiring, promoting and seems like, surpluses. Another discriminatory policy that needs to go, other large corporations like Walmart, Ford, Lowe’s, John Deere, etc.. have already removed it from their company and gone back to merit based.

So if the Power companies have also offshored control, we may know why there have been some test attacks already on the power grid infrastructure. Need to vote out those that allow this kind dereliction of duty to their sworn oath. Appears that the communication infrastructure is next. These globalist need too be sent a message and if they don’t like it, move overseas to a country of their choosing.

“ $100k salary in a high tech job is not that high.“ It’s not 1994. Not only is it “not that high”…it’s low. Very low depending on where you live.”

I think some folks need to go look at what they are paying now. There are a lot of basic jobs paying way more than $100k. UPS driver, Amazon driver, heck most of our Techs make way over that. Then track your hours, do the math and realize how much you are actually making. It’s eye opening. It’s also a big reason I’m seeking employment elsewhere. It’s a job, I come here to make money. I can make more somewhere else working a lot less and not have to deal with the office hourly tracking bs.

Does anyone honestly beleive that Trump will do anything about it? Get a grip. All the elite care about is $$$$.

I had an interviews with a power company. There was almost no one left in the US. They had offshored control of all their systems to India. Why do you think telco is any different.

I too find it laughable when a sycophant tries to use the defense of, but we don’t have enough money to pay Americans fair wages. look overseas in third world countries they pay poverty wages so we must move jobs to be competitive and become more enriched. For whom, the Lords? How much money is enough for the small minority elite? Is continuing to seek the lowest common denominator the way to treat your fellow employee?

The last time I checked, everyone employed from the BOD down to the least paid works for a public company but yet the leadership have somehow figured out a way to unfairly tilt compensation almost all their way. Their cry is, everyone else is doing it and we need to compete, history repeats. I’m sure it was the same cry during the enslaved days going back through time.

The Dismantle DEI Act 2024 introduced in June by congressman Michael Cloud of Texas and sponsored by none other, Senator J.D Vance of Ohio, now VP elect. Has now passed out of oversight committee on November 21, 2024. “to ensure equal protection of the law,” and to “prevent racism in the Federal Government.” So expect it up for a vote very soon. Reversal is on the way!

“This act’s mission, as it’s written, is threefold:

Enact a comprehensive effort to end all DEI-related activities within federal agencies.

Prevent companies seeking federal contracting and grants from using DEI mandates.

Ensure that federal accreditation bodies prioritize merit and qualifications over identity-based quotas.”

No payout here. I am so far over my payband from getting reclassified from a L2 to an L1. I will never get another raise but I don't agree to a paycut.

How much in stock buybacks just announced? $20b a year I think it was. This is money that won’t go into the network, the debt or the employees salaries. This money goes to the shareholders which will help the executives pay. The bonus I believe is paid in stock.

When they made a billion fcf they said they could no longer afford free healthcare. Now that we are approaching $20b fcf we have our own employees believing they can’t afford our salaries. $100k salary in a high tech job is not that high. Free cash flow will keep going higher as they try to stay out of bankruptcy. lol

If so concerned about offshoring, would you be willing to take over a $30,000 pay cut to stay? For more senior personnel this would even be a much higher amount. This is the only way the economics would work. AT&T can no longer afford so many inflated salaries.

I remember years and years ago all the video propaganda calls given by Ratty and his executive ilk. Even back then they hour presentations to us drones that they were more concerned with the unemployment in India than the unemployment in the US. Globalist BS at it's best!

Hard or not to believe that AT&T hasn’t already removed DEI and they are continuing to offshore and contract out positions while laying off/RTO US employees. It’s been more than a month since the election and Trump has already stated his policies while campaigning on growing, investing and keeping American jobs while removing DEI, woke, etc. thus, MAGA. Some people are either naive or just a little slower reading between the lines than others, I choose the latter with this “leadership”.

The military has some of their own proprietary systems for comms but it is disconcerting that foreign nationals have access to a major U.S. carrier’s pipes, systems and databases. It also doesn’t sit well that a company with large government contracts is offshoring so many American jobs.

The Telephone/Carrier companies have always been good at suppressing any negative news, lawsuits, employee grievances or facts about themselves, they have deep ties to government officials, K street and news organizations.

I know, when one smart chats or teams for support over seas they have access to all the various systems. Meanwhile, the company is quickly losing, shrinking the US knowledge base by layoffs, RTO attrition and not replacing personal that retire or just quit.

When it comes to making $$ the BOD and Stankey don’t care about national security, it’s about making money for the shareholders. Most corporations want to be globalist when it suits their pockets and to he-l with sovereignty and security.

The positions that they think are too important to offshore are theirs, even though you could replace most of them for Pennie’s on the dollar overseas too.
