I would’ve complied. I need the job. I just can’t commute due to distance, and I can’t move. It would be prohibitively expensive. And then there’s a high chance I’ll be laid off anyway soon after I move. So I guess I’m among the first wave of people leaving on their own. RTO is working as intended.

"RTO was never intended to be daycare."
Well no, and more to the point, WFH wasn't either. You might want to check with a doc about that early dementia.
What WFH did do was enable the company to keep talented people with hard to find skills through certain stretches of their life. Because as hard as they try they can run the company on generic skills for d in the market.
I’m out as soon as I have another job lined up. Already interviewing with a couple places. Hoping to have something soon. Lots of folks leaving. The attrition is going to be far beyond what they expected. Let them rot. They can have it.
“ RTO was never intended to be daycare.”
What the fu-k are you talking about? I’m referring to the wasted hours before and after work that I’m in the car when I could be with my kid. Not actual working hours. How does the boot taste?
“Having a small child, 3 day RTO was ki-ling me and I would’ve had to quit for 5 days RTO. Fortunately I was laid off this month.”
RTO was never intended to be daycare.
Good luck. Just know karma will get Stankey in the end. You can’t treat people this way while collecting millions a year and it not come back to bite you.
2025 will be brutal for the majority of T employees.
If you don’t think so, your head is high in the clouds and you aren’t paying attention to the writing on the wall (not to mention what leadership has already stated about 2025 and downsizing).
Good luck everyone. Buckle up for a bumpy ride in 2025!
This was me. Having a small child, 3 day RTO was ki-ling me and I would’ve had to quit for 5 days RTO. Fortunately I was laid off this month. Isn’t it sad when being laid off is fortunate? Sad times.
This is constructive discharge. You are due severance. Speak to a lawyer.
Get in line. This is going to be ugly.
You are not alone. Not enough parking, playing the Hunger Games for a functioning desk. I'm out too. I'd call it voluntarily, but i wouldn't be leaving if full time RTO weren't happening. I'll miss my immediate team. My leadership who does nothing but kiss the Stank's ring? They can rot.
Which wave are you in? Did you already indicate you would move leading to loss of severance?
I appreciate the bad position the company put you in. I am sorry that your life is being needlessly and negatively affected but d-mb decisions. I hope things work out for you. You will not be alone.
