Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Take your PTO, quit being green when on PTO

When I take PTO, my ar-e is offline and I'm gone. I'm constantly amazed at how many people (managers and non-managers) take PTO and then work all day. Responding to emails, sometimes attending meetings, showing green on Teams all day.........for crying out loud, take your PTO. You paranoid saps........this is a bank, not a battlefield or a hospital. It's been here for 170 years and will be here while you're on PTO. You're not that important that the place can't get on without you. In fact, it'll lay you off and never think twice about how important you thought you were.

Joke is on management. I don’t work except when I’m on PTO. It makes them think I’m dedicated.

People who do this haven’t realized yet the company could care less about them. Wf holds power over them where their existence is dependent on wf. You must control rhe power over wf…work side gigs or whatever to gain financial independence

Don't be bullied. Managers bullying customers, clients, and now the fed is what will end this bank's 170 year tradition.

I think a lot of people take PTO sometimes take PTO just to avoid an in-office day now. If you can’t/don’t want to go in on a day you need to maintain your average, but have approaching deadlines, what other option is there to take PTO but still work?

It's tough when you have zero backup. My manager doesn't really even know what I do. Sometimes it's easier to answer a few emails than let it pile up. However, I never do deep dive analysis work. That'll have to wait.

Keep in mind, you can be green on your phone as well.

They think that being a martyr and being available will save them from being cut. OR they are just bad managers and have not built a team that knows how to function or step in when they are out. They are afraid they will be replaced by their subordinates.

I do not work on pto or after hours. My manager seems to think it is ok to bother me after 7pm my working time. I send them to voicemail every time (not to mention wells took away my work phone so it is my personal device). Unless you are a top end exec, people below do not have to be available outside of working hours or pto. Some people need to get a life. More to life than work.

And it'll be here after they can our arses. I do NOT work on PTO and I hate people thinking they are so critical they need to. All they do is cut their own pay by working more hours unpaid.
