Translation: POTS/copper still ain’t going away until the FCC/PSC release T & the other ILECS of their carrier of last resort obligations. T is not going to invest in these remote-no cell service available- customers unless the government funds it.

I’ve had the wireless phone thing for years.
Works ok.
Need a Princess phone for power outages.
Does short term battery backup.
That is one thing about copper.
Always have 48vdc from CO.
Where I live, power gets pulled certain times of the year.
There are many vendors taking the copper POTS lines from AT&T. BCN, Epic IO, Granite to name a few. These vendors do POTS over LTE and VoIP out of the same device.
They are thriving while T is dying on the vine.
Go figure. Poor decisions lead to even worse decisions. T has run its course.
They’ve been doing it for several years around here. Many customers are told on a repair visit that wireless home phone is their only option for repair.
They’re either going to have to use Verizon sims or build a ton of towers if they want to shut down the copper network.
