San Ramon office space

How many employees are assigned to SR, vs how many seats are available?

I had the “pleasure” of visiting my new office last week, and it appeared the entire 3rd floor is vacant?
Also the space is somewhat resembling a class room rather than a work space, no privacy, no separation between work stations - this will be a real joy to spend 40 hours a week in.

There is definitely some f’ckery going on. People have a desk at multiple ATT locations, leaving sh1t behind to claim their spot so there are unoccupied “drop in” desks while they are at their other spot couple days a week.

I am ROFL at the concept of a "silicon valley" presence. That sums up the company more than ever. All appearance and no substance but the appearance is 25 years out of style.

Why are we still wasting money on San Ramon. It was a dumpster fire that DTV handled over to Randy the new media empire king at twice market price. You got to say DTV did their shareholders right.

“This is space for improved collaboration. Pick a chair and get to know some your
new coworkers.”

And that poster is the person who comes in and yaps all day while people are trying to concentrate on their work. When you have on the headphones, they’ll just lean over your shoulder and yell, “ARE YOU ON A CALL?!”

I am a boomer (which now seems to be a cuss word). The days of little to no competition are over and has been for years. Finding stupid ways to spend money at the end of the year just so you could keep your allocated budget the next year are also over. Toss in the stupid acquisitions and crazy debt we took on. If anyone reads the financial news we aren’t the only ones cutting folks. Will admit we seem to be more cutthroat than a lot and that su-ks. The economy (other than a crazy stock market) isn’t as good as we are heading from what I have seen. My son has quite a few friends who have lost jobs the past few months and some haven’t been able to find comparable jobs. Someone said they are getting their assignments done and nothing more. All that should be expected. Definitely understand and seen some good people lose their jobs. However when this RTO bs calms down, those that glorify doing nothing will be in the crosshairs. And they will see firsthand all the “opportunities” that are available in the market place.

Legg said (but we all know how much he lies) said they would leave enough of San Ramon open to claim a "silicon valley presence". Of course, nobody regards S.R. as part of Silicon Valley but consider the source of the statement.

This table with small partitions space seems the norm everywhere. Nobody likes it and am sure they'll get no new hires with any intelligence wanting to work in such space. Probably will be their excuse to hire overseas which is what they want anyway.

Saying it is not closing does not make it true. Already have downsizing planned there.

"That’s what the new seating in Alpharetta is like too. It Stinks"

Same at Lenox. Replacing cubes with tables as they renovate. The 4th floor at 1025 is rows upon rows of tables.

"resembling a class room"

This is entirely appropriate, we real workers have said for years that all these 'project 2020' hires resemble an out of control nursery school. Lots of playing, no one working.

Very appropriate

Be sure to bring noise canceling headphones for ALL the added noise and volume in this type of work environment as well.

Understandably, the RTO “work space” open concept environment is not conducive to performing productive meaningful daily work. There are many distractions and everyone hears everyone else’s conversations work-related, personal, you name it.

Class is in session.

Welcome to the RTO “work space” environment. It is specifically designed to make you feel as temporary and miserable as possible, in hopes that you will voluntarily leave, as soon as possible!
