My team is reaching a breaking point

We’ve lost many people this year, while the workload remained the same. No amount of hard work can compensate for so many people being gone, nor for roles that the rest of us simply can't fill. There’s no intention to recruit new workers or reorganize the team. I don’t know for how long we can continue like this.

I worked for WF off and on for over 20 years. This last time will be the last.
Same thing happened to my team and we weren't able to replace those let go.
Almost took down the entire IT structure of the bank due to people being over worked but no, we couldn't hire more.
Some of my team members said openly in meetings they were dreaming of just being out in the middle of nowhere.
Get TF out of there before your health suffers.

We’ll make the decision . Either su-k it up buttercup and be happy to have a job. Or quit. Make your statement and let them know you won’t stand for it any longer . Get on your horse and ride into the sunset knowing all the folks left behind are still working

warren was the architect of the CFPB

Hate on warren and the CFPB all you like (well deserved) but they have/had nothing to do with the asset cap. The asset cap was imposed by the fed.

The fed isn't getting looser any time soon - even if powell is replaced - the Fed is under a lot of criticism for not having seen the gaps in risk management at SVB - which were pretty clearly visible if the fed had been doing their job. If anything, that will make them hold WF to an even higher standard before they relent.

True, but my team’s role (original size 31, now 11) is mandated under at least two consent orders and by policy, so what our leaders do not understand is that if our number gets too low, they are in deep trouble. WFIP cannot do some of this work due to the sensitivity of several programs we cover, and they simply can’t hire someone off the street to do the work, as their would be a serious period of learning for that new person. When I leave in mid-Feb., they are in deep you know what. I have not told anyone I am leaving. There is no forethought to displacements, it’s like the Wild West. We displaced someone earlier this year who was truly a SME and working with the Enterprise on a new system. You could fairly say she knew more than her enterprise partners. She was displaced b/c she lived in remote SC.

That is actually a management style, if your team hasn't broken then give them more work. The quicker you break the better for you and your team. Here's an example, where does the pay come from for an uber driver? It comes from their vehicle's value. Where does the pay come from for a corporate employee? It comes from their value and health.

Have job lined up after bonus, so the end is in sight. Our team 1+ years ago was 31, it’s now at 11 and our workloads have doubled. No promotions or backfills. India support is decent at best and they only help around the edges.

I thought about this before applying for new external roles. I noticed you’re either cleaning up India’s issues the next day, or you’re being overworked. Once the location strategy is complete, I feel nothing is going to change. But I’ll be let go due to being in a non-hub but feel sorry for the ones staying.

Feeling your pain. Just do the best you can and make plans for other options if you can. Our team is so demoralized and tired of this fight everyday. Many are looking to get out for either a job or retirement. I’ve never been in a job situation like this and never want to be again.

You just described almost every team in WIM. Sometimes doing work for pay grades 1-2 levels up. & they wonder why everyone jumps jobs when the year requirement is up.
