Well good luck to everyone left there, a few of the comments on here about the inspection dept are 100 % accurate. That's why I burned off to bigger and better things before it got worse. There is a lot of knowledgeable people left there that will get rode hard an put up wet until they are cut lose. So stay strong and good luck. I sure do miss the night shift though.

No work - go to inspection? That statement alone says volumes as to how this company is ran. How does that work? The people going to inspection to "help out" - are these people trained and qualified to "inspect " parts? Inspection is a very serious job. Having just anyone who is unqualified "help out" is a dangerous thing in my opinion.

Everyone knows who the level 5 inspectors are, the leads set around and would only show the things they wanted you to know (job security you know) wile the others had to hump hump hump to get all the other work out the door. Level 5 is very important but when you are not the favorite in the department you don't get a chance. Training is another thing, since you have to do the everyday inspection you don't get the opportunity to show your ability on training others. When I go to work somewhere else I will insist on being given the opportunity to shine and to learn everything even when someone says you don't want to do that and never get the chance. I'm not saying that a machinist doesn't have the talent to inspect parts but most of the ones I have worked with don't have the patients or the quality background they have been pushed to 'get the work out' for so many years that is all they think about

Work is steady. Mostly level 5 and prototype. If no work, than they send you to inspection to help out. Glad I still got a job. I think some people that post here like to get everyone riled up by posting unfounded rumors like the previous responses.
