Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Sperry Canada

41% reduction in field hands from Feb 1 - Mar 20 (4 seperate rounds of layoffs). More to come in April? It's amazing how they lay off so many revenue generating jobs, yet keep ALL managers (non-revenue jobs, with reduced cash flow coming in). Halliburton is dead to me. I pity the blue crew...

Rumor is Sperry will be sold. Baker's Inteq will survive and turn in to Hal. Inteq apparently has more advanced tools. The fact that Hal is buying Baker, its because of Inteq and Drill Bits, the superior tools and market share. Just rumors.

With field hands, it's a no-brainer...no jobs on rigs, no need for field hands. You can't expect HAL to pay them to sit around. Management is very good at inventing value for themselves.
