You leave the conference room and are escorted to the elevator and then down the elevator to the door. You don't work there any more. Your stuff is boxed & shipped to you.

They won't tell you the selection criteria for those targeted for layoff. It's not the low performers as once guessed.

Layoffs in Bartlesville: called in to a conference room, told your position no longer exists, severance packet handed to you, quick stop in your office for personal belongings and walked out the door, badge taken.

I asked my supervisor if I was on the layoff list, and s/he said no. So I asked to be laid off, if it worked for the team to do so. I don't know what they decided.

Call to conference room, HR presents you with layoff packet, HR collects badge, HR walks you out the door. Desk items are shipped to you. In one situation, layoff mid month, on payroll until end of month, benefits until end of month, vacation paid after end of month, and severance paid after end of month. Certain roles will be walked out the door immediately such as high profile roles or information technology roles.

Anonymous84617 - it all depends what's in the severance offer. Sometimes they ask you to work a couple of weeks, sometimes they will keep you on payroll for a couple of weeks so you can get benefits but you stay at home. Sometimes, they cut you immediately and pay couple of weeks on the spot.

If you're laid off I have heard they don't even let you return to your office, your things are brought to you. You leave that day.

Sorry to be ignorant about this, but if I am laid off second week of April, do I stop coming into work the next day? Or keep coming in for a couple of weeks, (like until April 30 or so, as with the initial announcements)?
