Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Bleeding Blue

All i can say is i am 20 years baker blue and will always be blue. I have seen the good times and bad times. It is unfortunate that people have been laid off in the past. But from what i seen in my years it's usually the dead weight that has to go (Anonymous84085). The only reason of this massive layoff is due to merger and now for the first time we are having to let go some great talent. If it was oil prices it wouldn't be so bad. I remember 12 dollars per bbl and to be honest we never slowed down. I lived offshore. Anonymous84122 you are so correct. We are best in class. thats why over the years there has been many attempts to buy us. when you have the best product everyone wants it.. i am still employed at the moment and also last man standing in my department out of dozens.. Even though my career may be coming to a end, it's not the end of the world. A man that want's to work will always work. Even with the down turn we have at the moment i am still getting job offers. Guess I'm just lucky. But as i said i am True Baker Blue! I will ride it out to the end... I have much to be thankful for. I have gained so much with my career and i have no reason to complain. For 20 solid years i never missed a pay check and put food on the table and a roof over my family's head. To be honest that's all i aimed to do in life. Thanks to Baker i have done this. I am very said to see this happen. But it is what it is. Long live Sand Control

Now that the shareholders vote is in, Baker will soon become but a distant memory. I will remember the good and the bad times and cherish some of the true friendships I developed here..I wish everyone well in these coming months.

Well, For Alice Texas . Karma. All you Cartel members from the Alice dist. Who ran the district into the dirt. And got away with verbal and mental abuse. And kept good hard working people from progressing. Hey there Is a GOD! And now your regime is done. You will have to start all over. And hopefully you will get! What you gave!

I am long a time Red way over 20+ and still don't make a lot and not high up, just a laborer and Bleeding Blue is right, those of us who have worked for a way of life to provide for our family have seen good times come and go, not out sick , crying about the work, dead weight, you can never know what is going to happen, But Halliburton keep all the good hands they can, I am sure you will be apart of the men like us, maybe just a little red. but we all bleed for our way of life, you will fit right in.

One can not get attached to a company so much, I don't think it's healthy to say that you're Blue or Red or any other color, ultimately, one has to think about oneself and family, regardless of the time spent at a particular company.

You may be true to them, but they are not true to you. One of you is the fool.
