Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Management, Employees and the future...................

Get ready BHI for HAL will take over all operations. Some key members will stay for a period of time (1-2 yrs) and then they will be forced out. It happened between BHI and BJ.

I was in management myself and decided to leave for my own benefit and health and now I see continuous other management positions being fired, let go or walked away in a professional manner. This is a corporation and they will do whatever it takes to succeed financially and if you don't understand that you are being blinded by the BS.

I just finished reading a book produced by a senior president from a corporation and he stated in a corporate world that most senior people at the top don't really care for the employees but their goal is to maximize profits and walk away on a high note with millions in their pockets. Its a big fish against small fish and it will always be that way.

BHI was never a good managed company even when I was in management as they are to short focused and never though outside the box. The folks I answered to were all BJ and they only had one concern, take care of the BJ processes and applications and let everything else fall to the wayside.

So narrow minded they were.

Anonymous 86442 got it in one. Classic seagull management - fly in, make a mess then fly off before anyone can do anything.

One of the biggest problems with Baker Hughes management in general was that managers were constantly moving around. 9-15 months and it was on to another position. Never time to get a solid understanding of what they were managing so there were lots of "jacks of all trades, masters of none." This led to a culture where managers would come in to a position, point out all the problems in the department to their boss, "fix" the problems in their department but create a whole new set of problems in the process because management of change was non-existent, then show their boss how they fixed all the old problems, ignoring the new problems, and get themselves a nice promotion. Next manager comes in and finds the mess left by the previous manager. Cycle starts all over.

Only a select few Baker & remaining few BJ employees will win in this situation. The executives get the gold mine, the worker bees get the SHAFT.
