This is for those that are not in a managerial position..ie manager, lead, supervisor, cell lead. I'm talking to the " little" people on this one. I DARE ANY OF YOU to walk up to your FACILITY MANAGER and ask this question, its a simple question and you can memorize it...Ready: "What is the future of THIS facility?" Now... Stand back and watch the facial expressions, body language and listen very closely to their words. The indicators are there, you just cannot turn a blind eye to them.

I find this intriguing. There have been several posts on here concerning the future of some facilities here in the US. HUNDREDS of people look at these posts and only a handful reply to them. The replies are typically as such: "shut up you don't know what your talking about", "This is BS", "we are under enough stress why are you saying these things", "your an asshole or troll", "where is your proof?", "who told you this?" or "how do you know?". What is fascinating is that everyone wants answers but no one wants to ask the right person the right questions. We all have defense mechanisms when it comes to protecting our jobs, egos, families and lively hood. We tend, as humans, to do several things: Be in Denial, Repression, and try to Rationalize what is going on around us, instead of confronting the issue at hand. We all know that in this industry ANYTHING CAN AND WILL HAPPEN. There are HUNDREDS of views of this post alone and yet not a single soul has stated they are willing to put forth an attempt to ascertain an answer from their Manager. So I say, if someone else states the closure of a particular facility is emanate, don't get all hostile and ask how they know and all of the other blah blah blah, simply do as this original post suggests ---- GO ASK THAT QUESTION -- YES-- THE SIMPLE ONE --- "What is the future of THIS facility"!! Then you will not have to rely on others "Opinion", you will have conquered your fear and that will be that.
You don't have to ask the question, YOU CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU ANYWAY. THIS IS HOW THEY ARE PROGRAMMED. The future of the company is strictly downhill. The ground is coming up fast. Jump without a parachute is your only chance of survival.
All of a sudden a NAM R&M manger quits and nobody knows why, I think this is the reason why he see's WFT future not looking good
Yes!! PLEASE DO .. go ask! I would love to hear your results. You can't ask about the "future of Weatherford" either, because that will not be effective in gaining the answer about certain facilities. Asking about the future of Weatherford in general will result in an answer like so "Weatherford will be conducting business in a productive, profitable manner." The problem with this, is that yes they may be doing just that. But where? Overseas?
I laugh at this, not because I think it is a ridiculous thing to ask but because I asked a similar question at a luncheon we were having a few years back, I asked a 'very high up' person if they thought the Weatherford stock would go back up soon because it had not bounced back as quickly as it had done in the past, i was totally shocked and embarrassed when he laughed at me and said he couldn't tell fortunes and went on to say that no one new what the future would bring, you would think someone in such a high position could at least speculate but he seemed to really enjoy himself. I can assure you, they must really give these people acting lessons because I don't have the ability to read between the lines most of the time. I have always been a dependable hard worker and apparently even after all these years I'm still gulible and trusting.
