Do we have any information on stores laying off workers. I do understand that some folks from Walmart corporate reported job cuts but I wanted to see if we had any store employees who might be able to share experiences about layoffs that might have taken place at an US based store. Also, it's my understanding that some stores might closing, so if you have info on that please go ahead and share.

Walmart does this all the time and the supplier will hire everyone that is laid off.
I half expect there to be more than their temporaries laid off after Christmas. I myself have had my hours cut five out of eight weeks from Mid June to Mid August. If that keeps up till just before Christmas season, their will likely be more layoffs in January than just their temporaries.
Of course it could be that my hours have been cut because I'm now on corporate insurance and their driving my hours down so that during the next enrollment period I'm forced off corporate insurance. You have to keep a thirty hour or more a week average to stay on corporate insurance.
