Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Pass the note. Let the silent protest begin

Enough is enough. Time to stop chatting and stand up. Monday April 18th is the day that our field and home office employees stand up. Let's send a simple yet clear message that it's time that our innumerous amount of VP'S stop and listen. At exactly 11 am Monday morning we will leave our desk and gather in the lobby of each floor. Simple as that. We will only return back if and when they agree to take us serious and open a dialogue. This is not a joke. I'm dead serious. Who's with me.

So is it a work slowdown hitting the network services this morning? It's been lots of fun to see various systems go up, go down, go up, go down, etc. :-D

Since the store manager are more likely to step up and do something. This is not for the timid home office pukes who are afraid of their own shadow.

All my fellow managers let's do something about this. Let's form an alliance. I need one person to create a discussion titled "oust the execs" let's discuss how we can do this without the help of our home office people.

I've spoken to my employees and a few store managers in my area. We've got 23 people that are going to stand up for our rights. They'll probably fire us, but we don't care. It isn't like working in a book store is a career anyway. Just tell me what I can do to show support for our movement!

Maybe a work slow down is needed? That thing that used to take 5 minutes? Stretch that shit out for a whole day. Can't get work done with no employees anyway.

I think they meant to say Monday April 20th or Monday May 18th. Either way, I too am sick of talking g and complaining and not doing anything. Think about it people. While we are spending our time in fighting about small things like who's ideas are better. We can be conjuring up a plan to make a statement. I'm with you on April 20th or May 20th or whenever. I worked hard to get where I am and I can't let a few knuckle head execs ruin that for me. Let's stand up. Let stop the chatter and be about something

Security Cameras!! Brilliant idea! They need to find a way to pipe into the store and see what their precious managers do all day. If they even show up! My store manager thinks he gets paid whether he is there or not without taking personal days, sick days or vacation days!! Gee, Follett wonder how many mangers have screwed your company over?? Think about it... But the little pee ons get sh$t on and get canned. Your company deserves what it gets since you think your store managers are so honest in paperwork, payroll and procedures. Most have no clue what policies are in place or care to check them out, all the training they go to and they come back thinking they are greater when they left but did not learn a damn thing. You pump them full of sunshine and booze and they can break every rule you have. I hope every school that has a contract with you sees the bull&&it you hide from them. And I hope YOU see what kind of idiots you have running your stores!

Hey 89837... how are you going to stand up and show the world what you are made of on a Saturday??!!... if you had bothered to read the calendar you would see April 18 is on Saturday.

This reply has to be from the A-team only they are stupid enough to think they can pull one over us.

Call in sick. The "walk out" does sound like a management plant. Do one better. Call in sick (get paid, if you have sick time benefit). Sick outs are a common labor practice. even the "can't find their ass with both hands A team" would see it for what it is. Call in sick Much simpler.

This is such a stupid pointless idea that it had to have come from the A team.

No one will do this, because they are afraid of losing their jobs. And that is sad.

We identified that senior management submitted this post because they cannot read a calendar correctly.

sounds like a way for management to get a list of people reading this board. I can't see it doing anything good.
