My ICP payout was a lot less than I was expecting, and since I don't have access to Bonus Link, I don't know how they figured it out. Did anyone who was layed off get a letter to explain it, because I sure didn't.....?

The ICP target % varies depending on grade from 5% (grade 11) to 50% (band I).

Each function has a different formula and actual bonus can be higher (up to 2x) or lower (down to zero) based on biz results.

Oh stop with the "those on ICP are salaried so do not get any extra when they do a little more...." bullshit. Not all salaried are ICP. ICP is reserved for grade 11 and above (supply chain grading is different,). Those on salary don't get sick time either, but they do get AWP. Some use more than 40 hours, some a whole lot more than 40 hours, some use less. I was hourly and on ICP from 2001 until they changed that in 2007. Once upon a time, if you were in engineering, you were on ICP, regardless of whether you are exempt or nonexempt. But you go ahead and tell yourself whatever you need to. Not too long ago, those on ICP received a bonus and those on PIP did not. There were plenty of ICP fan boys walking around complaining about their small bonuses. But they at least got one. It was funny how hard corporate was trying to contain the "rumors".

Remember those on ICP are salaried so do not get any extra when they do a little more, they cannot claim overtime, they do not get paid for travel or days away. They have greater responsibilities, and this is how they are compensated. How often do you see supervisors and managers working through lunch, or finishing late. they don't get any extra for it, unless the company does well and the ICP pays out.

Workshop are asked to do a little more, they claim overtime for it, they get paid when working overseas.

ICP payout is dependant on what part of the business you are in and what grade, it is not fixed across the board. Mine was significantly different for the 2 parts of the year as I changed position midway last year. first part was below 10% second above it.
