Thread regarding Follett layoffs

As much as I love rumors, this is starting to get ridiculous...!

There is an earlier string with this topic. Read it. Read the end of it. It is clear that follett management has transitioned from being an enterprise to being a criminal enterprise. It's leadership has conspired to execute plans to harm their employees. They have conspired to cover up the criminal conspiracy. They pay lawyers for hire to strong arm victims into acquiescence and thereby completing the humiliation.

The above is my opinion gleaned from personal experience. There is no documentation I can share, but the results are undeniable.

Anonymous72480, you are RIGHT ON!! Plus, the bully and no responsibility management you speak of trains those under them to move up and manage the same way. I hope they get what is coming the same way they destroyed so many others lives due to their inadequacies and insecurities. They should feel shame but they don't. Liars and cheaters the whole lot of them at Home Office.

The law is only as strong as it is enforceable. Lawyers are looking for low hanging fruit. Without some sort of documentation they're not likely to take a case. The most they'll do is charge you hourly to work it. That being said, you're left with government enforcement. If you haven't noticed, there haven't been a lot of strides made by labor groups in the past 30 years. Government enforcement agencies are pretty toothless. So, yes, it's wrong. Yes, they're likely criminal, but they'll likely get away with it, too. Apathetic students and administrations don't care, either. It's not a good situation.

No company gets away with any form of discrimination. Do not be intimidated by that privately held nonsense.

The way the choose to layoff "at will" or not was age discrimination, that is not legal. That's why nothing was written down either on paper or through emails.

This is a privately held company. I worked at the home office in Illinois which is an at will state. I can tell you that I told senior management a business decision they made was destine to fail. When it did fail I was told that you own it how are you going to fix it? When I laughed in that persons face I knew my career at Follett was over (I owned senior managements poor decisions???). He started to yell at me (in public) and told me he never failed and I had to fix it. One can accept business decisions but this is just a bunch of loonies using their positions to bully associates and blaming their stupidity on others. When you have a bunch of psychotic bullies running a company that use their positions to threaten your livelihood, your job that you need to feed your family you’ve got a problem. Not criminal but definitely evil and destine to fail.
