I am sick and tired of the "Managers" on here saying ... "oh its soooo hard, put yourself in my shoes..blah blah blah" If you had really looked at these peoples files like you have claimed... the good people you let go would still be there. You would not have taken a Human Resource complaint into account at all!!!! To me that's a form of retaliation. Give me a break, you do and did know who was being laid off before it happened (you even told your friends/family who were being laid off.. don't think for one second they didn't tell someone else by the way) and yet you still looked each and every one of them in the face day in and day out and smiled. Sleep well.. until the next go around and your head is on the chopping block. Will you feel bad when your manager lets you go? or Will you put yourself in their shoes?

My director had hurt in his eyes too.. I saw it. Best leader I ever had. Would work for him again in a heartbeat . That man would make and allow you to be empowered. You all can hate me for saying it. I don't care. I would bat for him any day. No ass kissing here. It is what it is.
My manager didn't enjoy it and neither did my GM. But they had to do their job.
You're right. We managers have it good. We get to destroy a lot of people's lives and play God. Absolutely no sleep lost, kept my appetite high and my blood pressure low. Not sure how I am going to spend that bonus I'm no different than the Nazi guard saying 'I was just following orders' . Gotta go so I can make some blanket posts how useless all the people are that work for me, didn't contribute at all and are the reason weatheford is in ruins.
I had two managers smiling at me like barracudas just hours before I got let go myself. I took a calm breath, packed my stuff and told am, "You do know that you are next, right?" Two months later, THEY were kicked out. My dear, Karma is a bitch! Trust me, it gets better.
