Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Moved on

I remember getting trashed by this industry, twice. My confidence went to hades but, I bounced back. It was a lesson well and duly learned. In retrospect, I analyzed myself. Where did I go wrong? What would I have done differently? Was I truly tied down to this industry? Did my education, background and skill only apply to this industry? I turned down two other career paths in a different industry because, I was human and I loved the enthisement. I loved it all. I was arrogant, pompous and hurt the ones I loved. "If you had any worth, you would have been a desired commodity in the industry I worked in." I told a caring cousin of mine whom, to this day, I regret hurting. I grew, I matured, I found my humility and caring side. However, the ugly hurt came back again when layoffs begun this year, gone was my sympathy. However, my caring side set in again, the vision of broken families, haunted me. I couldn't hold the grudge for long. Then, I stopped over analyzing. Life lessons learned, no charge. Remember people, other industries were drenched and slowed when oil peaked and demand for cerebral and manual labor set in.In Houston alone, we had an influx of hopefuls, leaving their former home states AND economies to sink. It is a cyclic industry and many of you will survive.

tit sucker. So much drama. it's just a job.

Glorified plumbers.

Sucking nasty fossil fluids from the ground.

Big deal/

There's so much methane and oil in the world, you just give your life away working in the industry.

Oil companies have done a remarkable job selling scarcity.

Those in the service industry are low on the totem pole.

Get a life.
