Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Life does not end

To all of you unfortunate enough to have been laid off, fear not, life will go on. I know that sounds easy enough to say but I have been in your shoes. BHI "laid me off" 10 years ago (they fired me because I was a free thinker). I was an engineer and had 23 years of experience in the market segment my division participated in. It was the first time in my life I had ever been fired. It was devastating. This is the third job I have had since leaving them. I have been highly thought of everywhere I have worked since. It was their loss. I am happy and paid well enough and I have not had to put up with the BHI politics that was so prevalent.

You will ALL find other places to work if you want to. And hopefully most will be a lot more satisfied with the new jobs you get. Your new job now is to find a new job. Get to work. And good luck.

Fear is the last thing to be felt. Relief would be the first. Cheers to all who was fortunate to be let go so early and are now able to move on with their lives. it is unfortunate for those strandred at baker only being hold onto until the end when it burns to hell.

Well put. At first it hurts your feelings because you feel rejected. It's just business. It's not personal. Accepting that makes looking for a job a little easier. In this climate, finding one to replace the one you lost is the problem. Good luck to us all.
