If Halliburton goes down financially then they both will disappear and become like a distant memory

Soon Baker will be like a distant memory. How sad
It seems like Halliburton will be filling the many jobs vacated by Baker. They will be interviewing ,picking and choosing their own peculiar people according to what psychological profile they prefer.
tough time to have Halliburton acquire Baker for the employees. You are facing two negatives...redundancy AND RIF due to downturn. It's not all about the merger though it is certainly part of the problem.
Um Ya but this has nothing to do with the Merger errrr Takeover. Rolls eyes

These big companies do not worry about the next boom and having employees to work them. They know that most of the people working in this industry will not be able to find a job that pays comparable to what the oilfield pays and when the next boom happens, those people will be lined up waiting to be hired. Some will further their education and leave the industry but most won't.
