Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

OK, things are really BAD this time around

The conclusion: the worldwide oil and gas industry, including oilfield services companies, parts manufacturers and steel pipe makers, has laid off at least 75,000 so far.

Considering that about 600,000 work in the U.S. oil and gas sector, this is a big hit. http://www.forbes.com/sites/christopherhelman/2015/03/16/oil-layoffs-itemized-75000-and-counting/

Trying to survive through this year first. Although they are saying everything will be a lot worse by October and that the combined Halliburton will not be able to survive

The layoffs will continue. Got another 80,000 to go that will be laid off by the end of this year

"this time around"....is comparable to the big one in the '80's. It's a long way from over. I think the layoffs will continue through 2015. Many more will be laid off. The little companies are not reporting on here..ie. the machine shops and the small suppliers, not to mention all the hotels and restaurants that will lose a lot of their income.
