Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

R & D to go next?

Any ideas if the R & D side is going to survive till the end? it seems to me that should have been one of the first cuts.

I can see your point. but the R & D is needed to get new tools out to the field and market. We can't send out untested tools. True they do spend a lot of money and a lot of times the project is scrapped however, it is still a much needed function. Marketing is in the same boat. instead of chopping the work force, get rid of the managers that report to managers and have no personnel directly under their supervision. Even VP's should be the first one's out of the door without the golden parachute. The sad truth is there is no one person that can say with 100% certainty they are safe ( not the big wigs, they will be well compensated for killing the company).
