This could confirm that WFTs latest presentation showing a 40k headcount by year end was correct. We will know more next Thursday when Q1 results are due.

92069- read the last 2 investor presentations. The one in Feb (Credit Suisse) shows a headcount of 50,000 by year end, the one in March (Howard Weil) shows a headcount of 40,000 by year end. They will shed more light on it during the release on Thursday I am guessing.
This is all hype and bullshit. None of you have a clue.
Keep in mind that 20,000 is only about 15% of SLB's total workforce. This is comparable to Weatherford's 8,000 total, which would also be around 15%.

I heard it was 11000 people and that number was on top of the 9k they already were cutting. You can bet you sweet a** that the other big players will follow suit of some type.
Just get it right in your mind and prepare to continue on.
