What is this all about? I keep hearing about it but what is it supposed to be about?

This is what pisses me off... At no point will Baker Hughes management come out and say, well folks this is what's most likely going to happen. Why is halliburton management the only one who can tell their employees what's going on??????? I find it very strange that after the shareholder meeting passed, things have been absolutely quiet in the office with respect to upper management. It's like nothing ever happened and business as usual. Of course, the only difference is, our managers from the GOM are flying back and forth to houston literally every week. Things are happening, it's just bosses don't want to say. The talk slip from a senior manager over here that July we'll all be fully Big Red. So the only safe assumption for May 1st is that they're going to say what product lines are staying and a big employee cut. Because things are getting mighty close to that time.
Is it a corporate wide announcement or a bunch of individual facility announcements. I keep seeing references to booked conference rooms or town halls for that day. Anybody know?
I reckon it's going to get real ugly at Baker on May 1st.
It's about whether you still have a job on May 2nd.
