I agree, Baker was an excellent company, but shame about the leadership of Craighead and friends.
At least his $30M pay off will feed the kids!!
@ Slacker. That's cuz some of us have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Baker is the best company ever. I will never give up on this place. We will come out of this strong and even better with Hals leadership. I for one am ready to give it my all to take on Schlumberger. Who's with me?

Like you say a hostile takeover with Halliburton calling all the shots. Baker management are just puppets with no sway whatsoever. Sounds like Woodlands will be hit hard in the next week or two with large lay offs.
It wasn't a 'merger'....it was a hostile takeover. Baker will go before Halliburton. Simple business concepts.
I think its a mass layoff. Why else would you rent community centers in Woodward for it? If it was anything else ie benefits, they wouldn't be so secretive.
Do you think we will see an increase on the 10500 lay offs,on May 1st?
May 1st has been mentioned so many times in the Woodlands office in the last 2 weeks, it must have some credibility?
