Anyone know anything regarding the smith plant in Ponca ? Used to be the best roller cone producer in the world! From what I've heard lately schlumberger has ran it into the ground... Curious ..

Its true. Schlumberger started the destruction of the Ponca City plant from day one. The Italians and SLB value no one. Some of our best and brightest have either been let go or forced to retire. Others are retiring early just to preserve their sanity .Smith was a great company. Good benefits, active in the community and they took care of their people. We were NUMBER ONE!! WORLD RECORD HOLDERS!! Now no one cares. Just going through the motions. Waiting for the axe to fall.
This was set into motion long before the price of oil fell.
The Smith businesses are falling apart and being destroyed by the SLB machine.
You must be confused... The best rollercone producer is located in The Woodlands, TX not Ponca City. On a serious note, sorry to hear this. We are all in this together.
