Anonymous93794- Dude put the pipe down! There is just as many of you that are gone and more to go! It is happening on both sides. Your time will come also. Get over yourself and just think how you will feel when you get laid off and if you have a family what will you do next???? I really don't know why people on here are acting like this??? This is horrible!

To the nice guy with big red for over 40 years, you are right. We'll loose the bulk of our staff and the few left will be integrated.

What's funny is few know, Baker starts higher, but after the progressions, Halliburton pays more for senior guys. So those who survive the axe could actually get raises when they go red.

As for the red guys on here who are rubbing it in and using profanities, well...

I guess we know who the low hanging fruit are. Just be quiet before you have to step aside for us.

Just like when bj services got bought out (yes bj people, it was a buyout) you have to do what the company took you over tells you. Now it's bh people's turn. You got taken over. Don't cry about like bj, work with it

Any BH management that thinks they will make it through the transition are in denial. I personally know many that are in such a situation. Sad.

@ Anonymous93825 - What kind of idiot would buy a company and guarantee retention of this employees? That's about the dumbest concept I've ever heard. Despite Obama's best efforts, this isn't a socialist country...yet.

Anonymous93794. Your an ass! You will soon be gone. No matter what color you wear. Chances are your days are numbered. This is fact. By June 1st Halliburton will layoff 20,000 more people. Supply chain. Ha. You think this is Walmart? That don't mean nothing.

No need for the hostile response, but it was a hostile takeover. LOOK AT THE FACTS.

Hostile takeover- We took over Baker. We solicited for buyout, BHI declined on the condition that HAL wouldn't guarantee BHI employee retention. HAL bought outstanding stock. Majority stockholders owned both BHI and HAL stock so it was almost unanimous! Google it. Its all there. Check bloomberg.com

I've been with Big Red for nearly 40 years and have seen several "purchases". In some cases they buy a company to eliminate competition. In that case, they break the company up, get rid of the employees, and sell it off as pieces. The BHI acquisition is more about making Red stronger. I expect they'll keep the best Blue employees and dump the low hanging Red fruit to make room for them. Just my observances.

No. Not as a generality. It only makes good business sense to retain the top performers no matter if they're Hal or BHI and release the remainder. The only areas where we'll see a biased retention will be where one companies product line is dominant or being divested. No point keeping BJ Services employees if it going to be divested and that market share is absorbed by Hal's PP. The same goes for Sperry when it is clear that they're keeping Inteq instead.

Since when did it become a hostile takeover? Who approached whom? Did Halliburton come knocking at BH's door or did BH come knocking at Haillburton's? BH's top officers will be richly rewarded in the buyout. Shareholders from both companies overwhelming approved the buy-out. I didn't read of any conflict at that occurred when they voted to accept the offer to sell or to buy. Truth be told, there hasn't been any job security in many years, anything can happen and you in the industry should already know that everything is cyclical and any of you can be adversely impacted or rewarded.

I also agree that BH will loose the most as per the hostile action. Prepare for more cuts BH. Sorry.

I agree H are the dominating company and it was a hostile takeover. Very little the thousands of employees of both BH or H could do about that. Out of are hands. BH has many good, loyal and bright employees who will be an asset to H in the future, if retained. Like everybody we at BH are fearful of losing our livelihood in these uncertain times.
