Well they got me last Thursday after nearly 15 years. It's a very scary prospect being a 60 year old without employment.

I'm sorry to hear. i'm right there with you. promotions are lies there, unless you either get it in writing or are playing the games of favorites.

Late last year I got a job offer for $37,000 more a year doing the same thing in a different industry. My boss begged me to stay promising me a huge raise and promotion. When it came time for raises they announced they were having a pay freeze and then today I got laid off. I wish I would have listened to my co-workers when they told me what a horrible place Exterran was to work for and to take the other job. To make matters worse, I heard through the grapevine that my boss was the one who recommended me for a layoff. If you are ever considering accepting a position at Exterran, do yourself and your family a favor and keep looking. They treat their employees horrible.

Not sure how many people got laid off today but there were a lot in the Houston area. Sad day at the office. We lost a lot of good people.

Who is the idiot saying these are lies or that we don't know what we are talking about? We informed all locations via Town Hall meetings. The layoffs started on Friday the 10th with contract labor in the shops, Youngstown on Monday, Columbus on Tuesday, Broken Arrow was yesterday and today? Maybe you. Idiot!

It is fact that Exterran's Houston area compression will lose 150+ hourly and salaried employees between 7/13/15 and the end of August. The main reason for announcing this is so that some will leave before the layoffs so the company saves severance, which is two weeks for each year of service plus payout of any unused accrued vacation time. Good luck to all! May the decisions be ever in your favor.

I figured it was valued bc it made sense that they would do the corporate layoffs the day before the huge brittmoore rearrangement. But then they cancelled the location moves at brittmoore for today as of yesterday morning. So then I thought they just want to torture us and postponed the 18th bc too many people were suspicious. Now we have this cloud hanging over our head every day until then. Wtf.

The 40% is likely due to the splitting into two companies. 60% US Services and 40% to Mfg and Intl' or vise verse. Mfg and International is keeping the Exterran name.

if it is true. Breath in, breath out, move on.

It's mainly middle management, and those that were hired but never lived up to the duties. As long as you are doing your job well, not grossly overpaid compared to market rates for the position, and you are not pointless middle management, you should be fine.
