Any furloughs in the US yet concerning salary employees? Heard its on the way.....

"salary here" Never heard of anyone signing up for 50 hours on a salaried position? If you worked 10 hours over each week can only presume you were a brown nose or not that good at you're job that you had to stay an extra two hours a day?.
In Canada we have 2 unpaid days a month, so basically 1 furlough day each pay period. It started as of April 5th and runs to September 5th. Furlough days don't have anything to do with vacation, no vacation days have been cut or sacrificed.
If your crying over missing your overtime suck it up. I'm salaried and tell me why i should lose pay when I work 50 hrs a week. When hired you singed up for 40hrs a week when I hired I knew I would work over being salaried.
First they will offer salaried employees to buy up to 80 hours of extra vacation per year. If enough people voluntarily sign up, there won't be a need for furloughs in U.S. if they can't get enough volunteers they may consider pay cuts and/or furloughs.
I work in completions in Canada and am salary. Everyone gets effected by furlough not just the hourly people.. I take 2 days off a month unpaid
So basically this is a day off work (unpaid) each month
Canada, all employees salaried/hourly have one furlough day every pay period. This is seperate from vacation and works out to an approximate 10% pay reduction during the furlough period, or 4% reduction in 2015. Furlough can be accumulated but must be used before years end. Obviously overtime has been cut back as well.
Anyone stating otherwise is trolling or does not comprehend the furlough. To be clear, furlough applies to all positions in Canada, top to bottom.

In defence of salaried employees during the good times we miss out on masses of paid overtime unpaid overtime is normal during peak times! When the bank manager set up our mortgage basic pay on our joint incomes was a must even though my good wife earned nearly twice her basic pay thru overtime this had no bearing so the old saying "live on you're basic wage" is never more true than now. During the good times hourly rates should have set aside a fund just for such an outcome so maybe a good lesson in life if things do pick up again? In reply to Anonymous104676 if a10% salary cut was introduced I would be in favour only if it was to save jobs and not just for shareholders 90% is better than nothing????
Is not fair that salary people still getting their full pay while us (who get paid by the hour) have been dropped to 40 hrs/week. My check has been cut to less than half.
They should have done this months ago. Think of how many less people they could have laid off.
10% salary cut like they did in Canada can only help save anymore layoffs its only fair if its across the board top to bottom?

There should be furloughs especially if it saves even 1 hourly position. This is awful to watch.
