Who determines who gets laid off and who stays ? Is this made by shop manager or decided with upper management ? Who cuts whom ? Explain the process.

That's bullshit.. If doing my job and not letting people treat my like I'm a piece of shit and going through the proper steps to get it stopped is somehow my fault for the reason I was let go then weatherford can seriously kiss my lily white ass. You try to go to work and do your job and and you have others that do whatwver the hell they wanna do and that shit is okay. When it screws the company and other employees how the hell is that okay? So I guess stepping up and saying something was the cause.. well who the hell wants to work for a company that does that.. I have said it before and I will say it again.. if you keep your head between your legs and cowardly do what all the other slackers and non compliant people are doing.. Weatherford will keep you. DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYONE and you might as well pack up your shit if you EVER go to HR OVER A MANAGER. Because Weatherford may say the want fresh and new ideas... That's a load of crap. If they did they would get rid of the people that have and continue to turn shit into diarrhea.

It is as someone posted earlier, Managers go through their employees and grade them on their performance, their level of skill, their promotability, etc. From that, it is determined who are the good performers that will bring value and who are dead weight. After that it becomes a numbers game, if higher up says cut 10, then the 10 bottom performers will be cut.

There are many on here that say that is BS, and people play favorites, and this is probably true in some locations with poor managers, which is unfortunate. What I wrote above is how it should happen and how it generally does. The people that post on here saying they were cut for no reason are not always saying the whole truth. When people get cut, in most cases they have brought it upon themselves someway with their work performance.

Good luck with getting a true comment to your question. Not one soul will give you a true to fact answer. It is all a guessing game. Managers this and HR that.. its all crap. And it is not bitching, that is a fact. No one knows. Managers can give their recommendation, but I've seen those exact managers get canned and their recommendations ignored. Good people gone and worthless people kept. Point being... You will never ever know what's going on til it happens.

Well for a serious nonbitching answer.

It's a combination. Managers are asked to make a list of expendable employees. HR tells manager how many are to be cut and the manager picks from the list as I understand it.

Just like every other process in this company, WFT makes it up as they go. Kind of like their accounting practices, hiring process, bonus process, and quality process.

The way it's worked in the past, they hire a new manager and you have words with them so as payback they give you a bad review, in turn, corporate looks at the review and determines you are a terrible employee so you are on the list.

Process- halfass do your job? Call out every week? Take hour for break? Leave property without clocking out? Take 30 minute breaks? Do what you want and not follow company policy?Take unauthorized gifts from vendors? Play solitary, on facebook, paying bills and unauthorized computer use while on company time? Harassed other employees? Screwed up work? If you have done any of these things..YOU ARE SAFE...seen the people that have not done any of these things let go... Now ask me why? Don't make no damn sense to me..but its what I've seen happen.

I don't believe they have a system.. if they like you.. you stay.. if not adios..your out..it has nothing to do with how you work or anything. I seen good people go that was at work EVERYDAY and did their job good... But someone didn't Luke them.. now they are gone..good luck..hope you got lots of friends ans hope you ain't complained about nothin.
