Plenty of directional dinosaurs fitting that description here in EARC. Direct descendants of Neanderthal man in the majority of cases with a touch of inbreeding.

Probably a good policy to can all Directional Drillers over 50 years of age. They have been setting a poor example for many years and have a highly inflated view of themselves. More than not they are often completely out of tune with the modern drilling tools available. Experience doesn't mean we should hold on to these antiquated dinosaurs for any longer than necessary. Oh and they are generally computer illiterate and can never set up a printer to actually function, always blaming such problems on other crew members.

They've been laying off older and experienced employees all along, those who had a good sense of themselves, simply minded their business, worked hard and did a great job, produced, and treated others well (those who refused to join evil nasty clicks). Suppose it's easier for weak management to deal with employees who kiss butt daily and only use their own voices behind direct/higher management's backs.

Other service companies have done exactly the same. High grade code (i.e. high salary) and low performers. Younger employees cost less and will (presumably) be around longer so lower replacement costs long term.

Makes sense to the company because the employee over 50 may be a old timer getting oaid big bucks but company only sees money sign not the experience its losing

Directional Drillers only over 50 years old are being layed off. Doesn't make sense.
