Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

11weeks

CK did you know that AI is moving to 11 week classes instead of 10 + 1 ? Thought not. Faculty meetings on or about the 16 to explain the changes. Adjunct have been invited to attend. Not picking on CK, but this is the stuff ya need to know...not the crap he posts.

Ai DC and others have been 10+1. Negating that exercise now...I'll fill in the questions after the meeting on the 16th, May her an attempt to have all locations on the same schedules much like the move to have all curriculum be the same across campuses ...

I have to agree with everyone else, 534. What are you trying to say? Most AIs that I know of have been on an 11 week schedule for at least 15 years, if not more. At the AI I work at, it's always been 11 weeks of classes with the 12th week being slated for staff meetings, etc.

There was discussion of going to a trimester system before I left. Maybe this is what the OP is referring to.

Chicago has been 11 weeks since I can remember, and I've been there 15 years. Really, get your information verified, stop slinging unwarranted drama.

Quarters always were 11 weeks, going back to the 90's when I attended. Please, don't post dumb stuff! 48

Not sure what you mean, 534. California Ai's have been on 11 week quarters since the beginning. I know, I taught at one of them. (Maybe one of the other schools in the system was on 10 week quarters?) The 12th week was mandatory faculty meetings and development.

Our campus has been on an 11 week schedule since we opened in 2007. Please explain this irrational statement. I did hear that culinary might move to fewer weeks. Also heard three full timers are on the block on week 11.

Sorry CK... You will have to wait or google that. You have no idea ... Thanks for the question... I decline to reply to you. Maybe one of your supporters can explain it to you.

Precisely why you are not relevant here.

The lister!

More mismanagement babble. The overall impact will be immaterial to the student experience and success rate.
