GE or SLB will be able to pick up WFT for pennies on the dollar.
GE has looked at buying WFT a couple of times and decided not to after looking under the hood. One thing WFT has going for it is Artificial Lift, but I'm not sure how it compares with SLB.
Bottom line, I don't thnk anyone wants to buy WFT...too many problems.
SLB is in a poor shape they are being hit harder than most realize GE wont touch WFT either too unstable for them also in this downturn it would be like buying a fishing net to catch water
Bullshit. SLB has plenty of reserves, plus WFT is going to sell CHEAP! GE also has plenty of cash and may be the buyer.
Schlumberger same internal politics debateable employee contracts in a word "better the devil you know" with WFT
Schlumberger don't have the capital to buy a can of soda the 1st of July will come and go just like this rumour

Okay, I'll bite. Please explain what WFT has that SLB could genuinely benefit from? Not being sarcastic here either. What are the really valuable parts of WFT that SLB wishes they had? What things does WFT do better than SLB and, more over, what things does WFT do that SLB BELIEVES that WFT does better. SLB can be pretty arrogant in their view of competitors. They have drunk the koolaid too long. Say anything long enough and you eventually believe it. And it is easy for man to land on the sun. He just has to do it at night. Seriously - not one engineer among the lot of you.
