107123, thanks for the solid info but no way is he on to bigger and better things. They flew him out to fire him. "Resigning" let's him save face. He could have called in his resignation or emailed a letter. He wouldn't fly himself out here to give them 3 business days worth of notice. AUO managers had a meeting today, I bet they are scared now.
