Commitment to your work ambitions has to be balanced with commitment to your family, even if achievements in business may at times suffer. In the long run, you can reach your goals without sacrificing your family life.

This is not always a simple decision. It would be nice not to have to worry about money at all. I'm not there yet because the family has needs too. If someone feels they need to work long hours to meet the family's needs, the family needs to buy into that decision as well. I don't believe it is something a person should unilaterally decide on behalf of the family. I know people (TCNs) who only get to see their families for one month every two years and that is a choice their families have made. There are hundreds of millions of people working like that. I'm just glad that was not a choice I was ever forced to make. I'm very lucky with what I have. If you can find something that provides for the family and allows more time with them, win-win. No service company will ever allow that. If you're not divorced, you're obviously not working hard enough.

Trying to get my husband out of here... He gets no days off and gets called in even when sick so idk how he is suppose to look for another job. For the past 2 months I have barely seen him, something has to change I wish they would just lay him off already so he can get a severance package to find another job.

Money isn't everything, but it sure helps pay the damn bills.

While career in the oilfield is important, family life is, in the end, the most satisfying part of life. Happy marriage and family are the most important predictors of success in life.
