Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

So which programs are on the chopping block?

Not that we know the results from the outside expert, but certainly we can think of the painfully obvious.

Please no "just fire the managers and poo poo heads", unfortunately that strategy won't yield the layoff firepower that everyone is worried about.

Anything that is not making money will be a target, so ask yourself if your project is making money or has real potential.

Likely directors will have people they intend to cut, you should have some idea of you are in our out with your manager.

But I don't think Windows Phone can add up to 5000 layoffs; do you disagree?

Windows Phone folks better start updating their LinkedIn profiles and resumes. I can't imagine that program remaining in its current state beyond the end of the year when it is established that Windows 10 is a dud in the mobile space

It doesn't matter what the results from the experts are. When the rats are jumping from the sinking ship, you aren't going to help things by bailing water with your beer glass. SM doesn't know what he's doing; anything he does is equally likely to have piss-poor results. Relying on experts provides him with CYA. He's looking for a scapegoat. As a stockholder, I'd like to know how much we're paying for his butt coverage that would perhaps have gone to something more useful--like dividends?
