Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Lot of foreclosures, Repeat of 08/09 economic crash following price of oil decline?

Guys, we're all focus'd way too closely on our own lives, our own box, our own prison. What value is there in any of you or i keeping our jobs if the economy goes tits up. Turns out there was a lot of financed capital injected into this last up cycle in oil field. Infact it was the oil field alone which pretty much brought us out of the recession (thats if you believe we've emerged,i personally dont)

The rest of the country is in deep trouble, for the most part here in texas we've been insulated. now the the collapse of the price of oil we see a lot more other secture failures. this i believe is going to be the root cause driving a further collapese of the economy. We are literally in an Oil bubble.

We're coming up on a presidential election, hell last time we shifted bosses we had a monster economy down turn, and here we are again. Im not talking Republicans or democrats here, im just talking numbers and trends.

These are all just domestic observances, what about the international aspects. I beleive our government is using saudi arabia as a hammer to crush the russian economy. thats what the ukrain and crimea incidents were all about. after it became obvious that russia was going to win by proxy in ukraine the western alliances went to economic warfare. this is where we are today, and as a consequence of that economy strategy we here in texas are facing losing everything.

The bottomline here is i see us heading for a major cross roads and we need to be mindful of more than just our jobs. we need to pay attention to our homeland.

The low price of energy is great news for basically ALL other parts of the economy. The price of doing business is less (transport/shipping), individuals have more money in their pockets. In short most economies are better off, the exceptions being the ones whose entire economy is based around oil rather than a being more diversified.

What is bad for the oil industry is broadly good for other industries.
