Pretty much. It's very hush hush in ETC. I hear tid bits here there. Us pawns are in the dark.
What is it with everyone else's groups???? Our group won't tell us any numbers, just says keep on working hard. They won't shed light on what skill sets will be affected. Is this going on in all ETC?
I was told today that out of the 62 employees in my division we will loose 27! ALMOST HALF! Timing is what is next on the agenda. The number is set in stone!
The Gorgon project is taking it's toll. 1 Billion a month on a project that is 25 billion over the budget already. Won't be done until the end of the year. Chevron could not evacuate the work force during the Cyclone because of incompetence. It's single handed the most disorganized project in American history!!!!!! They have to make up for the overruns somewhere and 25% cut starts the process.
Hmmmm....I would have to agree with you on Boston Consulting Group. I was in Pittsburgh with these guys came in. Chevron has zero clue on how to make it in the shale gas game. So Boston Consulting Group pretended they knew something.....of course they did not even understand what we did. I left at the end of the summer as I saw a train wreck. Talking to friends still left at that hell hole they got worse....way worse after the reorganization. They promoted people that were so unqualified I believe they will have a liability issue when they kill there next employee. IT managers that are now D&C managers. as the above post says....RUN FOR THE HILLS!
Google the DEP report from the fatality in February of last year....they had fast food workers, laborers, short order cooks running the well site that exploded. The VP Nigel Hearn...total jack ass....promised a counter point to the DEP report....of course NOTHING....still no Root Cause has been sent out.....Chevron did not want to say....WE ARE IDIOTS!
When do they start cutting people? When do they tell us who's affected?
25% cut across the board. BCG is a horrendous management firm.....the give out goals then no understanding of staffing requirements. There is no workflow....
workflow to identify critical components...what it takes to either mitigate or promote the critical elements....then once that is agreed upon...not in a vacuum....then you can put together key competencies needed for the jobs and a staffing to meet the plan.
I worked for BCG....they have no understanding of the business....put on your seat belts, Results, degrees, will not matter. It will be the protection of co workers and friends. In the Pittsburgh downsizing core competencies, education and results were never examined.....it was "I like him or her." The theme song for BCG is oh oh go on and take the money and run!
