The Belfast plant thought they were safe as well - millions invested only for the plant to close the following year and all the machinery moved to the Woodlands in a matter of months.
Woodlands corporation would love to get the land for new medical facilities - expect production to move to another location in the years ahead.
Halliburton has already announced they are selling their bits business and keeping Baker's bits. It's doubtful they'll shut down the plant, but it's hard to say how many Baker employees they'll keep.

I haven't heard any chatter from my acquaintances in the Woodlands but best be prepared for any circumstance. I wish you and your husband best of luck.
People are genuinely concerned and scared. The rude responses are totally unnecessary and just mean. This lady asked a legitimate question and all she got was asshole answers. Baker is building up this hype and frustration by saying "wait for it. wait for it", instead of just being honest with the employees.
Believe me your husbands job is toast on Friday.
