I have been here 5.6 years and I really have come to hate my boss. He is a self centered ego crazed a$$ clown. Any advise on how I can make him quit? Our group is pretty good to work with except him.

Your boss is entrenched and has obviously sucked up enough so that the Dirs., Sr. Dirs. or VPs think he's indispensable. You, on the other hand, can be replaced with an H1B visa holder, for less than they are paying you now. Do the math. Then, after you have another offer in hand, make arrangements to give your notice in the middle of something that will make the @$$clown look bad. It would be a shame if he didn't get his bonus.
The solution is simple. Quit. Like I'm going to.

5.6 years is correct. I count every day because of my boss (old geeze) grew a vagina and all I can smell is his used tampons whenever I walk by his office when I HAVE to talk to him since he never dumps his garbage. A total scum bag.
I had an issue with my boss.....I complained to my VP...he called me and my boss , started discussing things in joint "meeting".... in a few months I was made to report to another guy who reported to me boss....... a vindictive move...and then I quit....
messing with the boss means dead end in QUALCOMM...... it never helps under any circumstances...

Five point SIX years? How did you come to that exact amount of time? By my estimation, if you have been here five point FIVE years, that would be five years and six months. So five point six years would be five years, seven months and two days. Are you sure you got that right? Was it exactly TWO days or were you just rounding off?
I know you must be an engineer, but still. this calculation seems a bit flawed. Please clarify.
