Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron will NOJV the Pittsburgh Marcellus Shale BU

Chevron will NOJV the entire BU. They are faltering badly After the reorganization. Costs are 3x the competition. So they will let the competition keep the lease holds. The number of employees left will be 50-75 by the middle of next year.

I will tell you I spent 3 months in Pennsylvania at AMBU Chevron. Nigel Hearn the VP of the BU is down right clueless. He got removed from two refineries because of major incidents then comes to Pennsylvania and another fatality happens under his watch. Sitting in meetings, it is obvious, he has no interest in learning the upstream business model. NO LEADERSHIP! They would be better off with no leader than that jack ass!

WOW ON THE DEP REPORT!!!! I did not see that!!!

You are correct it will be NOJV'd and Chevron will screw the good folks. I think they will have another fatality before the NOJV and just idle the asset.. The Department of The Environment report is scathing! I got out of there after Chevron killed that young boy. Chevron is broke all over but it is not broke in Pittsburgh. Broke means it had to be whole at one point. It never was! Here is some of the DEP report. Mom and Pop outfits are levels better than Chevron! They have a refinery manager running a upstream gig. Nigel Hearn could not find his ass with both hands. The Well Site Manager had no training. He was working as a short order cook at a family restaurant 6 months before the explosion.......all the facts are here.

Experience. WSM’s possess a wide variation in experience and training. Some

of the WSMs had decades of experience in the oil fields. However, others had

virtually no background in the oil and gas industry. They worked, for example, in

information technology, food service, or as a construction laborer. Having limited

oil field experience reduces effectiveness of the oversight a WSM can provide.

Short Service Employee Policy. Chevron employs a Short Service Employee

(SSE) policy. Under the policy any worker with less than 6 months experience

must be approved by the WSM (along with identified protective measures).

When the ratio of inexperienced workers to experienced workers is high Chevron

upper management must approve SSE workers. At Lanco A, the inexperienced

worker’s SSE Form was never reviewed by Chevron or approved by Chevron and

remains unsigned.

Chevron’s Wellview system does not identify an

inexperienced worker for Cameron for this time-period.

Inadequate supervision. The “greenhat” was not supervised closely as he

manipulated the lock pins. The “greenhat” had not been trained on this

procedure, or any other well procedure.

Yes I do believe that. Its a shame that they ruined a great opportunity! Spent lots of money and failed horribly. Their competition is smarter and leaner than them. This has and will affect lots of good people!
