Pretty sure ainyc is UFT not AFT
@CK.. FYI that contract is up in August
@Anonymous99084, it sounds to me that EDMC made the decision weeks ago and that they are figuring out how to get the least amount of backlash. As you know, the NYC Ai has a teachers union (AFT). The New York State Attorney General (Eric Schneiderman) has also done some major crackdowns on for-profit colleges lately. Maybe the AG will figure out when the decision was made in discovery.
Why does the close/teach out list keep getting deleted??????? Are you scared it's true?!?!?!?!?!
CK is an old unhappy hack who regurgitates the same rhetoric in e dry post. He has very little business sense. There is no risk CK. You hope to,stir crap where there is none. Baltimore could use ...go visit.
CK what are you talking about how are they putting themselves at risk? Nothing is official until it is announced and put into action just like any business decision in any industry. NO business decision is made at the drop of a hat under normal circumstances. There are many layers of planning that have to be addressed as it is being worked through. Once that's in place the final decisions are made and is put forth..... Also, with a teach out, students are still able to get their education, so I don't see where you're going with that..... Maybe the quality of the education would be decreased but that is circumstantial, not always in edmc control as long as the teachers are leaving on their own terms and not via RIF.
Thanks CK. I agree with you. I think that campuses will know this week about the trach out. Today was a training so that the presidents knew how to handle things when it went public. Great point CK.
@Anonymous98983, my point is that EDMC executives are putting themselves at risk if they have already decided on "teach out" locations and haven't let students, prospective students and the AFT local at the NYC Ai know. Imagine being recruited to go to NYC Ai knowing that the school will close. IF EDMC were a viable company (and its not), stockholders and prospective should also have been publicly notified. If someone does have insider information about the closings, they need to secure and document the evidence.
CK. get a Frkn life for Christ sake..... You contribute nothing of merit, find another media and move on..... Oh but it is a big scary world out there... Grow some balls and then move on.....
And your point CK...?
Chris Hardman has previously stated that any closings were "rumor and speculation."
Going the way of U of PHX... everything will be centrailized in effort to save on overhead = LAYOFFS
Some of the campuses you mentioned have been working in the FA centralization with us.
Salt Lake City and Virginia beach are not rumored to close. Interesting though that just these campuses were on the call today.
Just so you Salt Lake City, San Fran, Virginia beach, Wisconsin and Troy were on the call too. Your list was only half complete. They were discussing teach out.
