What did you think of the town hall and the new CEO? Any reasons to be optimistic? Any announcements about SS, DG or GT?

Yes, HR and leadership operate as if you are as dumb as they are. Maybe I am just used to working around leadership that is more sharp because what I experienced in the last year is both pitiful and laughable.
This "retiring crap" has to stop. Just tell us the truth!
I have never heard of immediate retiring. We are not as stupid as they think we are!
Yes, douse the flame forever! Too many mental acts of violence against the dedicated associates that built the company.
That flame logo will forever be associated with MLS's reign of terror.
Those mention and a few others (some that have been on the roster for a while) will also soon be "retiring"
He sounded frank to me. I hated MLS, she was the worse case of Passive Aggressive psycho that's out there...
Flame out? The light of knowledge? The light of enlightenment? The light of compassion? HA!
looked to me he was out on the spot last minute. At least he answered questions. Still didn't answer if we are getting new colors. Better logo would be nice too. Throw that flame out. It represents the bad times.
At least he didn't start by telling you what the value of privately held Follett stock was valued at 5 years ago and what it's valued at today and then tell you his only job was to make Follett stock worth more. The effective immediately is something MLS will never live down. Give RG a chance to make things right. It won't happen overnight but it will happen.
I liked him. I think he sounded sincere and recognized something MLS and DG never did. Follett is number one in the market because of its people. All MLS and DG did was make fun of Follett processes and kept saying "we can fix them". Remember MLS/DG that Follett is already number one because of its employees. Kmart/Sears/Omax/RRDonnelly are not and failing fast.
Sounds like a recycled speech to me... I think they just replaced some other person's name with "Ray".
I'm not expecting too much from this new "leader".... I have a feeling he'll stick around for a few years (5 at most), be collecting his paychecks (and any bonuses) announce some new plans and vision (actually it'll be the same old sh*t just reword it to make it sound new and innovative) then he can retire with benefits and sail on his boat (don't all retired CEOs own a boat) and vacation in India.... because I can guarantee that will Follett's new headquarters in 2 years.
Very unimpressive. The supposed testimonial of our new CEO was gibberish. I don't know if it was poorly written or poorly read but it didn't make much sense. The whole meeting felt like they didn't prepare at all.
